Dortmund is the largest Brewery city in Germany. The largest brewer, DAB, was founded in this region in 1868. DAB has become reknown worldwide as the Worlds Best Dortmund type beer. DAB actually began worldwide export of their products in 1879 to countries as far as Japan, India and Australia. In 1900 DAB was awarded a Gold Medal at the Paris World Exhibition. Today DAB is a Market Leader with one of the most modern brewing plants in Europe. The 1932 Mercedes was typical of the 'heavy' truck used by the Brewing Industry pre WWII.
